Art Nouveau “Bleeding Heart” Vase by Emile Galle – early 1900’s
Acid-etched cameo glass vase signed by Emile Galle from Nancy, France early 1900’s.
This antique French vase depicts a spray of Bleeding Hearts (Coeur de Jeannette in French or Traenede Herzen in German). It would make a lovely gift for that special someone, say on Valentine’s Day.
Blood red blooms on an opaque matte ivory background. Very fine detail and veining in leaves and blooms. Excellent condition for its age.
7″ high x 4″ diameter.
Emile Galle was a glass maker and botanist in fin de siècle France. He was at the forefront of the Art Nouveau movement with its strongly realized natural motifs.
