Art Deco Vitrine, Circa 1925-1935
Sensual and curvaceous Art Deco display cabinet, circa 1925-1935, in search of a domestic situation fitting her allure.
Like the best lingerie, this is a two-piece. On top, we have a vitrine with softly rounded corners. The front curves are draped in a shimmering burled walnut veneer, while the main body is a more demure walnut veneer over a wood frame. Shelves and sliding glass doors put the “Va va vavoom” in the va va vitrine.
The bottom cabinet is no shrinking violet, showcasing high lustre throughout. Its surface of burled walnut veneer with its coffee and cream swirls deserves more than a supporting role. The eye then falls to the rounded cornice of tiger-eye veneer, and then the delicately shaped and curved front doors beyond which lie less public treasures.
Well-maintained, as she should be. Your mother-in-law will NOT approve.
Approximately 175 x 13 x 54 cm.
